A Little Bit of Everything
Today we did a little bit of everything and nothing too big. This morning we watched a show about trains and did a train coloring sheet. He was very proud of it and it will be in the mail soon! This morning was also the long awaited showing of "Cyberchase." After that it was off to PlayDonald's for lunch with friends. We were also both going to the library, where I actually remembered to take out the camera.
After the library we headed to the store and then home for some cartoons (Jack) and cleaning (me). The boys are sacked out now and I'm going to get some work done. Talk to you soon!

Peanut, Peanut Butter! And Jelly!
Tonight Jack got to make his own dinner--PBJ! When I asked him if he wanted to make it you would have thought I had told him he could take the car around the block. I think he was most excited at the prospect of using a knife, but I gave him a spreader instead.
Step 6: Dig in!
My current organization project is the pantry, and though I don't have before and after pictures of the whole pantry, I did make sure to capture the spice "area" that gives me fits.
Though we did go out for a couple of errands, today was much more relaxed than yesterday. We drew, played Scooby Doo, and read Gingerbread Baby about a jillion times.

Friends and Fun
Today we had a very busy day with friends. First up was a meeting with some FIAR friends at the Omniplex. (No, I will not be calling it by that other name. It is ridiculous.)
Jack went right to the water table, which was no surprise since he had been talking about it all morning. (I just realized this is actually a picture of the bubble table. Oh, well. Bubbles were stop number two.)
This time he tried the face painting, which was something he'd never done before. He wanted Duke on one cheek, Penny on the other, Lady on his forehead, and Popcorn on his chin. He then added a few accents. When we got home he had to wash it off, but he told me that face painting was going to be the first thing he did there next time. I am a little worried about him getting too close to a tattoo parlor. He could easily end up as one of those forwarded emails.
Another buffalo!

Rachel is quite the cook! We had homemade pizzas and she even managed to sneak some cauliflower into the sauce. Jack gobbled it right up!
Some of the dinner crew--we had 6 moms and 12 kids!
Since we were with older kids (8 and 6) we actually spent most of our time out of the little kids' area and we got to see a lot of fun stuff we had never seen before. When we left four hours later Jack was still having enough fun to say, "Double shucks!"
We came home for an hour and then it was off to our friends' house for a dinner playdate. It's always more fun to play with someone else's toys!

After all of that, I was pretty sure Jack would be as exhausted as I was, but of course that was not the case. He still managed to take a long bath, watch a cartoon, listen to a bednight story, and discuss time zones with me before falling asleep around 9:00.

Shopping Day
"Shopping day, it's shopping day!
Shopping day, it's shopping day!
No, it's not bunny hopping day;
Today's the day we shop!"

Today's the day we shop!"
Just in case you aren't familiar with The Backyardigans (and I can't imagine there is anyone who isn't!), that is a take off on one of our favorite songs. So, no, I don't really sit around making up songs about shopping. Today was just going to be storytime and WalMart, but then I found out Old Navy was having a sale. So 4 pants, 4 tops, 1 jacket, and 1 pair of pjs later, I was out only $25.69. Then it was off to do the grocery shopping, which was not as fun, but necessary.
This afternoon brought our first movie especially made for Jack (Freight Train) and the beginning of "train school," something he has been asking for for about two weeks now. Of course there will be pictures later!
A couple of pictures from our day:
Playing chess at the library. We have to do this every time we go. And of course the librarians got on to me for playing such a trick on them as cutting his hair and then sending him to storytime with Grandma.
Now the boys are asleep and I've got an episode of Moonlighting with my name on it!
