Bug Out!

Today was the annual Bug Out, where kids get to release thousands of ladybugs to help out the plants at the indoor gardens. This was our third year to participate and we had so much fun!

We were greeted by a giant ladybug. Last year Jack was a little creeped out by this.

Checking out his cup o' ladybugs

This year was the first time Jack didn't dump the ladybugs on the first plant he saw. We actually made it inside about 30 feet before he was ready!

Jack loved the waterfalls.

For some reason we always try the group shot. In any one picture, odds are 2/3 of the kids will be doing one thing and the other 1/3 will be doing something completely different. Or maybe none of them will be doing the same thing. It's a toss up.

Jack enjoyed finding ladybugs on the floor and putting them back on the plants.

On the bridge

It was extremely humid. The kids played for a while in front of the fan to cool off.

There were a few stowaways on my purse when we left!

Jack wiped out on the sidewalk. He was glad to find that Kira had a sympathetic ear.

After the Bug Out, we all went out to lunch and over to the playground.

In our book order last week we got this book on ladybugs. The drawings of the ladybug molting concerned Jack quite a bit.

Modeling his souvenir t-shirt

He even slept in his bug jammies tonight. Of course Bobe had to get in on some snuggling.

Tomorrow is an extremely busy day, so I'm off to do some chores and make a bunch of PBJs!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

and I'm not sure if I was snoring, but I did manage to fall asleep in the middle of a game of Hi-Ho Cherry-O, so I'm going to bed as soon as Jack is asleep tonight!

Today was cool and rainy--the perfect kind of day to stay home. So of course we had some errands that needed to be taken care of today.

Breakfast

Playing firehouse at the library

Drawing the earth

Not a whole lot going on today once we got the errands finished--but tomorrow will be a different story!

120 Days

"Almost Home"

It's almost you; I'm almost home
It's almost your smile, it's almost your eyes
I almost see through all your fears and the lies
I can almost believe that it's mine to own
I'm almost there, I'm almost home

Another Day Down

We were gone for quite a while today (board meeting, oil change, lunch, and eyebrows) and I forgot the camera, so here are the few pics I did take...

We also made some preparations for an upcoming event, but there will be more about that later!

Cinco de Mayo

We started our day by meeting some friends at the park. (Actually, the day started about four hours earlier when Jack got up before the crack of dawn, but who's counting?) Jack likes to climb the ladder and then reach/jump for the second bar. He will hang for a bit and then drop. He did this repeatedly today until he had marks on his legs and arms from landing on the wood chips so often.

Nothing honors the Battle of Puebla quite like cinnamon chips.

This afternoon we ran around the yard for a long time.

Bath time
Jack is sleeping now so it's time for me to finish the chores and watch some TV!

Checking in on the Birds

As soon as I got out of the car at my mom and dad's house, I had to go see the birds! They look quite a bit bigger just in a few days.
Saturday afternoon nap

This morning before we left I had to check in one more time. They have opened their eyes now! Mom and Dad will have to send up some pictures since we won't be back for a while...

Peek-a-Boo!

Party Party

We were away this weekend so we could attend my nephew's birthday parties. In the afternoon he had his "kid party."
Waiting for cake

The cake

In the evening he had his family party. Everyone chipped in to get Piers this tractor. It was a little scary. Jack said he preferred picking up sticks to put in the front to driving it.

Playing in the playhouse

This afternoon he worked on one of his party favors--a construction scene with stickers.

The completed masterpiece

Also this weekend we were able to visit Grandpa Jack and spend the night at Nana and Papa's. I am worn out from all the fun!
