October

We moved out of our old house exactly one month ago and into our new house a week ago. We're finally starting to see a little progress with the unpacking. I still don't have our other computer hooked up, so there won't be many pictures yet, but here's the rundown on the last month!

Jack is loving the new house. To our surprise, he doesn't even mind being upstairs by himself. We have joined a homeschooling group here and have gone on a couple of field trips. Friday we have a Halloween party--Jack will be a zookeeper and Alice will be a zebra. He has also started taking gymnastics once a week.

Alice has learned to roll over both ways and laughs at Jack all the time. She still isn't much of a sleeper, but I am hoping that once we have been in the new house and in a routine for a while she will start sleeping more.

Jay signed a contract last week and will start working in a few weeks. It has been nice for him to have the time off since he is the exclusive unpacker while I am taking care of the kids.

I have been trying to plan kindergarten, get things in the house organized, and keep up with the important things like Glee and Facebook. Hopefully we will have the other computer up and running soon and I will post pictures of the house!

Let There Be Light

The In Between Time

We've been back home almost a week, and it looks like it will be about one more week until we move into the new house. In the mean time, I'm not sure where the camera cord is, so don't expect any pictures for a bit.

What we've been doing:
Jay: House and job stuff and being sick.
Jack: Field trip to the nature center, started gymnastics, went to his cousins' school carnival
Jen and Alice: Tagging along with the boys and catching up on previous episodes of Glee, which is the best thing I've watched in a while.

This week will hold more house preparations, more trips around town, and for Alice, a lot more of being spoiled. If I can find the cord, I'll post some pictures!

We're Home

It took us seven years, three months, three weeks, and four days, but we're finally home.

Hiatus

Well, we're down to 10 days left at the old house and we're hoping the new house will be ready by then. Jay has interviews lined up this week and we're back and forth between towns. And Alice still does not love the car seat. Imagine the most stressful thing you can think of and then multiply it by three and then you'll know where we're at. Unless you're thinking of death, in which case you should divide it (is that the right operation?), since I am fairly positive that we aren't going to die from this. At least most days I think we'll survive.

Anyway, all of that is to say that I will be taking a brief break from blogging for the next few days as we try to get everything done. I have a house full of stuff to start dismantling, school to plan, a garage sale to prepare for, and a three month old who may be just a tee-tad spoiled. And to top it off, I have a sneaking suspicion that I missed the season premiere of The Office, so you know I must not be myself.
