Happy Birthday, Alice!

Alice has been SO excited about her birthday this year!  She got up early before Jay left for work to open her presents from us (some things for her American Girl doll, a new bag, and a new Kindle).

She also got a new bracelet, which she wore to the movies that morning.

This year it worked out to have her party on her actual birthday.  She chose a Trolls theme!

Photo booth time!

They made necklaces (with these awesome cords).

Alice taught them how to make Trolls headbands!  (Find the super easy instructions here.)

They turned out so cute!

Our new yard stuff got a workout!

(Not the greatest lighting, but she really wanted to sit with her banner behind her!)

3:31: Exactly 8 years old!

That evening we had our end of the year picnic for 4H, so she got more time to play with friends!

It was a great day!  Happy birthday, sweet girl!

May

Our May has been really full!  Here are all the odds and ends pictures that never made it into a post--starting with the Lego "May" that Jack made for the library!

Dave and Buster's Half Price Day!

In Alice's gymnastics class they had a photo shoot one day.

Her picture made it onto the summer camp flyer!

 Cinco de Mayo

We went on the Mom & Me Hike again this year!

We went skating twice this month and both times Jack won free passes by winning Red Light, Green Light!

 Dress up fun!

We went to a new (to us) park and splash pad in Owasso.

Last day of swimming lessons--until we start back this week!

Last school year lunch with Great-Gran

We went to see the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie.  It was really funny, though I prefer the old kids better.

Jack and I went to the Kiddie Park.  He had just seen It, so we had to take a picture with the clown.

Last train ride of the night!

We finally got a new swing set!

We also got a climbing dome.

Hobo is really enjoying the dome, too!

The kids got to drive the go-kart at my mom and dad's.

It was Alice's first time to drive herself!

 Memorial Day

We went to the pool and it was so cold the kids decided to get in from the slides.

You know it's cold when you want to wrap up while you're in the water!

We spent today in Kellyville at 4H's District Contest Days.  Jack entered in speech and Fabric and Fashion.

He won first place for his dog costume!

June is going to be full of fun, so I'll do my best to stay on top of posting!

School's Out, Zoo's In!

Saturday we went to Oklahoma City for a sleepover at the zoo!

Before the zoo, we stopped by the Pops in Nichols Hills.

It's not as big as the Arcadia location, but it's still nice.

And it was a great place to stop for a cool treat!

We walked all over the zoo and it was so hot and muggy!

This orangutan was done.  It's pretty much how I felt.

The otters are always fun to watch and they were putting on a show for us!

Time for the sleepover!

First there was a session on nocturnal animals.

Then we had a night hike!

There was quite a bit of lightning, so we had to wait for a bit in the snake house!

After a seemingly long but actually short and very cold night filled with the sounds of people turning on air mattresses and me talking a sleepwalking Alice into lying back down, it was time to rise and shine!

We stopped by the otters again on the morning hike.

Jack spotted another creature trying to see the lions!

We had a great time!
