Happy Bobey Day!

It doesn't seem possible that this picture, one of Bobey's last, was taken more than three months ago.  I miss him so much, but I am so grateful for the time we had with him.  Sixteen years ago today we brought him home, and though the beginning and end of his time with us were hard, they made us appreciate him even more.  I'm so glad we had him!

Happy 2018!

This year we did our New Year's Eve bags a night early so the kids could have a sleepover at my mom and dad's.

At 5:00 we did a photo scavenger hunt with pictures from the year.

I spy Jack in the lizard cage!

6:00 had a couple of different things.

While dinner cooked, the kids went through the memory jar.

So many fun memories to look back on!

Alice's pony tail from her big hair cut!

 And the Golden Ticket!

We had 2018 pizza to eat!

At 7:00, we videoed interviews about the year and did some New Year's Eve mad libs.

8:00 was Minute to Win It games, starting with the Nutstacker.

They tried to bounce ping pong balls into the egg cartons and get three in a row.

Trying to get three ping pong balls to stick on the tape.

They had to get as many Froot Loops on a pipe cleaner as they could and then twist it into a bracelet using only one hand.

Trying to be the first to stack 25 pennies using only one hand.

At 9:00 we watched Zathura.  (And while we were upstairs doing that, the kittens were downstairs turning on the laundry room sink!)

We took a break at 10:00 for ice cream and then finished the movie.

 The 11:00 bag had Slapzi.

Players have to match their cards to different category cards.

The 12:00 bag had new message boards for the kids.

It also had noisemakers and hats!

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

We started the Christmas celebrations Friday evening at Jay's mom and dad's.

 The youngest four!

 Christmas Eve morning at church

On Christmas Eve we went to the annual party.  Alice helped make a video call so those who were out of town could join in on the singing.

 Christmas morning at our house

Jack wants to watch American Horror Story, so Alice made him this card based on a picture she saw.

I think the contrast between the front and the inside really makes the card.  haha!

Alice and her new monkey blanket

I think she was excited about the gymnastics mat!

Jack was pretty thrilled with his He-Man stuff, too.

Jay got me a high-tech Columbo set.

His mom and dad came by for a while in the morning.

 Christmas kittens!

We went to my mom and dad's in the afternoon.

The grandkids and the Christmas tree

We got my dad a Snickers Yard.  I was kind of disappointed to find out it wasn't actually a giant Snickers, but I guess 18 isn't bad, either.

We had dinner, played games and decorated cookies.  It was a great day!

4H Awards Banquet

In September we had the annual 4H Awards Banquet.

Jack carried the 4H flag for the opening ceremonies.

He received a gold medal for his companion animals record book.

He also won a special award--the Small Animal Award!

They even mentioned Boris when they were giving Jack his award!

 Cuties!

All of the members from our club who earned medals this year

We even got a picture of all four of us together!
