On to Today!

We got on the road in good time this morning and were back home by lunchtime.

This was waiting for Jack when we got back!

This afternoon was pretty laid back. We painted...

and made a zoo...

and started learning about weather.

Now Jack is in the tub and I am hopeful that I will get in some scrapbooking tonight!

Catching Up: Monday

Monday was a very busy day! We had an Easter egg hunt at the park and then we went home to celebrate Grandma's birthday.

We had a picnic before the egg hunt.

Grabbing those eggs!

Jack got in quite a bit of play time, too.

After all that, I was sure he would fall asleep on the car ride home, but he didn't. In fact, he didn't go to sleep until after 9:00!

For Grandma's birthday we had pizza and the kids played games. We learned Jack is definitely not patient enough for the shooting game. Even with Grandpa's help he just wanted to pull the trigger. He thought the water that would shoot out from the game was pretty funny.

Catching Up: Sunday

Since Blogger will let me post pictures now, here is our Sunday in a little more detail.

Thinking Jack would wake up early like he had been doing, I didn't set my alarm. So of course he woke up at 9:00, which is very late around here.

During the morning he spent some time drawing.

He also got the eggs ready for the Easter egg hunt.

Around 11:00 he noticed it was sunny. We went outside and stayed there pretty much until 4:00.

Even Bobe is getting spring fever!

Chase

He spent about an hour digging on the floor of his playhouse. I have a vinyl floor to put over it, but I haven't done it yet. In the meantime, let the digging continue!

During his bath he asked me to leave the lid off of the bubble bath in case there was an emergency.

That was our Sunday! If Blogger will allow, I'll move on to Monday and Tuesday in a while!

Messed Up

For some reason, I have not been able to upload any photos, so here is a quick run down of our Sunday: Outside. That pretty much takes care of the day. As soon as it was sunny near the patio, Jack had to go out, and we stayed out for hours. Jack was busy digging, running, dancing, and just being wild. Even Boris joined in. Hopefully soon I will be able to get some pictures up!

Inspectors!

We played "Inspectors!" pretty much all afternoon. This game seems to consist of pretending we are looking for random items that either are in plain sight or don't actually exist.

Inspector Jack playing soccer. He is wearing loafers because it is the one pair of shoes he can put on himself and consistently get on the right feet. Typing that probably jinxed it.

When we went inside, we became inspectors who lived in caves.

Cave Inspectors!

That was most of our day. In the morning we did run a couple of errands and eat lunch at McDonald's (note to self: NEVER go to McDonald's with a playground for Saturday lunch!). Now Jack is finally asleep and I am going to try to get to bed early enough that I won't miss that hour of sleep too much.

PS: Spring is on the way!

Friday Fun!

(I'm pooped from all our fun, so tonight I'm playing a little Holy Road. And Bobe says "hello.")

This morning was the long-awaited performance of Sesame Street Live. Jack has been pretty excited about this since he went last year.

He had his Elmo spinner ready to go.

Year Two without spending $8 on a mylar balloon. Jack went for the binoculars instead.

Have you ever tried to get two three year olds to calm down at something like this? Don't waste your time trying. Trust me.

The almost 30 minute ride from the top of the parking garage to the street must have had a calming effect, because by the time we got home Jack was ready for some painting.

Of course, calm doesn't last too long around here, so I'm worn out. I had some vague thought that I might exercise, but I think I'll be scrapbooking instead. Have a good weekend. We miss you and we love you.

The Cutting Box

A long time ago I read about this idea somewhere to make a cutting box. I thought maybe I saw it in Family Fun, but I couldn't find it on their site, so I'm not sure. Anyway, the idea was to have a box with paper in it that it was okay for the child to cut on and for the scissors to be attached to the box so they wouldn't be getting lost all the time--something we have a big problem with around here! Lately Jack has been asking to cut paper a lot, so it was time to make our cutting box.

I used a small box with cut outs for handles and covered it with white contact paper since I didn't know how great it would look for my kid to be pictured hanging out with a Boulevard Beer box. (Just so you know, the linked one makes great beer bread!)

Jack got to work with some stickers.

The finished product. The string is longer, but it is tucked inside so the cat doesn't try to drag it off.

Inside we have all kinds of paper for him to cut on! Hopefully this will get him to practice a little more with his scissors.
