2017 Solar Eclipse

We scaled back our original eclipse plans, but we still had a great time!  We had planned to drive up to Joplin, which was supposed to have about 95% coverage, but their forecast looked cloudier than ours, so we decided to stay put.  We picked up some snacks at the grocery store this morning.

We went to a local park with friends where we would have a nice open view.

We picked up some glasses at Lowe's a few weeks ago and they were on the approved lists, so hopefully we will still have our vision intact tomorrow!

We took our colander and could see all the tiny crescents.

You could see them in the tree shadows, too!

 Eclipse selfie!

I love this picture my friend Leah took!  We were around 90% of totality and it was really cool to see!

The Fourth of July

Since it's been more than a month, I figured it was time to get pictures up from the Fourth of July!  We started the day with a parade in our neighborhood.

All of the kids decorated their bikes and scooters.

There was also a big water balloon fight at one homes in the neighborhood.

And that was followed up with some pool time!

In the evening we went to Jay's sister's house for some fireworks.

 Silly string!

This is probably my favorite shot of the night.  They look like they're in an action movie!  Ha!

This was one of Jack's favorites.

The remains...We had a great time!
