Bright Nights

Last night we participated in the Bright Nights overnighter at the science museum with 4-Hers from around the state!

 The theme was Star Wars!

Ready for the Science Live show

 Monkeys!

They had tables with different activities set up in the main area.  Alice is eating a cheese ball that was frozen with liquid nitrogen and then blowing out the smoke!

 Riding on a hovercraft!

They got to make their own light sabers.

Jack was able to balance for more than 9 seconds!

When it was time for lights out around 12:30, they started showing the original Star Wars movies.  Jack lasted until about 3:30.

Alice and I went to bed.  We look pretty happy for people who are about to sleep on a concrete floor!

We got up about 6:45 this morning.  This is the aviation room where we slept.

There was just enough time to play a little more.

At 7:30 we left and hit the road!

When we got back, the kids had a birthday party...

...and then Alice had a basketball game!

Not long after we got home, she fell asleep and I took a nap, too.  Jack is still going--and he has a basketball game tonight!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jay and I don't normally do too much for Valentine's Day, but last night we did go to the hospital party--which, oddly enough, was a Mardi Gras party.

Usually the hospital party and the Daddy Daughter Dance are the same night, but this year the dance was the week before the party, so we were not quite as rushed.

We don't really have any spot in the house that's not cluttered to take pictures in, but they looked great, anyway!

We had a very full day that day, so Jack and I decided to spend the evening with takeout and a Once Upon a Time marathon.

We did a lot of fun things this year for Valentine's Mail, like making Valentine slime!

One evening we all went to the movies!

 Marble Slab

 Valentine sewing class

The Cloverbuds had a party at their meeting and we'll have another small party with friends this week.

We didn't do too much today, but we did go look at the house.  My love language is can lights.  (This is the ceiling above the master bathtub.)

The kids got bags with a few goodies, including this Lego puppy.

These are the Valentines the kids made for us in class yesterday!  Since they were the only students, the teacher let them come up with their own ideas and helped them make these original Valentines.  I think they did a great job!

Share the Fun

Friday night was the 4H Share the Fun talent show.  (The Cloverbuds made their own vests for the show!)

The kids were part of the large group act.

First, the Cloverbuds all came up on stage and they got a goodie bag.  (Apparently a camera phone is not the best for photographing things on stage!)

Cloverbuds can't be a big part of the skit, but they can be extras, so Alice got the part of holding up a sign.

 Jack was a pig...

 ...and a judge.

He also had a short speaking part at the end.

They won first place!  They were all so excited!  They have worked so hard the last six weeks!

Jack is Member of the Month for February!

The main advantage to this is that he has gotten to sit in the comfy chair during all of the practices!

Now that this is over, our regular lives can resume!
