Neville Xerxes & Seamus Xavier

Last Monday night Jay texted me that we should come home from 4H as soon as we could.  When we got home, these two little guys were waiting for us!  They were part of a litter that was up for adoption at our vet's office and we had been looking at their picture for a week.

As you can see, they're settling in well!

These little kittens are so sweet and cuddly and already do so many things that remind me of Boris.  They're not a replacement for him at all, though.  We still miss him so much, but these guys are a happy distraction!

Boris Henri

(You know how in obituaries for old people they always have a picture of the person as a younger professional?  Here's Bobe's.)

We've been without our Boris for one week today.  He fought cancer for the last two months and while we hated to see him sick, we're thankful for all the time we had with him.  We're still adjusting, and it's going to take a while.  He was my constant companion through many nights of med school, residency, rural rotations, deployments, wakeful babies, and random bathroom breaks (when he always expected to receive a treat for accompanying you in the night).  We miss him so much.
