The Last Day of School

Today was our last official day of school!  This has been the weirdest year yet, but thankfully next year should be nice and calm!

The kids had a gardening class this morning.

There are also seeds they planted in there, so in a few weeks it should (hopefully) be full!

 Raspberries from the garden!

We had lunch and then made an impromptu stop at the splash pad.  We actually did go home and do some school, too.

Tonight we went to a party at the library to kick off the summer reading program.

We have an insanely busy June coming up and then the big move, but we will be doing a bit of school here and there, and of course, lots of reading!

Candy Castle

As a treat for completing 25 days of the Read Aloud Revival read aloud challenge, I told the kids we could go to Candy Castle yesterday.  When we got there, we found Discover Oklahoma was doing a shoot.  They told the kids to go ahead and look around while they were filming.

A few minutes later, Jack was putting on a microphone!

Even though this was the first time we'd ever been there, he was pretty successful at selling it as one of the best places ever.

Alice even agreed to be interviewed!

My blurry picture of the treats they picked--a Giggle Potion and a cotton candy ice cream cone.

It was great!  They have so many different candies and treats to choose from and we will definitely go back!

Wrapping Up

We're still finishing up school work, but our outside activities have all wrapped up for the year!  I love this picture of them working on their science experiment on the last day of co-op.

 Elephant toothpaste!

Alice earned several badges in GAs this year.

PE ended last week (until the summer session begins in a couple of weeks) and yesterday was the last day of dance.

Last night was also the last 4H meeting for the school year--but June will be pretty filled with 4H activities!

Now to finish up at home!

Dance Recital

Yesterday morning Alice had her rehearsal for her dance recital.

 They looked great!

In the evening we got her makeup on...

...and it was time for the real show!

 Backstage!

A poorly lit picture of her audience...

They did such a great job!

After the show!  We went to IHOP for a late dinner and then all slept in this morning!

The Jungle Book

Back in March, we read The Jungle Book so we could go see the movie when it came out.  We've had so much going on lately that we just saw it Tuesday!

Thursday we went to the Children's Garden, which is done in a Jungle Book theme right now.

They had different characters from the book/movie like Kaa...

 ...Baloo...

 ...and King Louie.

 The Lost City

They spent a while putting this elephant puzzle together--it looked easy until they took it apart!

 Finished!

 Making music!

When we were finished, we had sno cones and then went to the inside gardens--more pictures from there later!

It was a great day!

Be the Dinosaur

Yesterday we took a road trip for a couple of fun events.

We went to the Be the Dinosaur exhibit at the Sam Noble Museum.

There is information all around the room.

And there are some cool displays, too!

The more information you have, the better you'll do with the interactive exhibits where you are a dinosaur trying to stay alive--getting food and water and staying away from predators.

It was fun!
