Weekly Wrap Up (12/27)

There's not a whole lot that went on this week that wasn't Christmas related.  Monday we stayed home all day and watched Christmas movies and wrapped presents and just enjoyed the day.

Alice has been using Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree for school so we made Christmas trees for dessert.

Alice made her own tablet with a gift label package!

Tuesday we had a busy day out.  We ran errands, had lunch with family, and went to see the new Annie movie.

In the evening we went to see the lights at Rhema.

It was cold, so we had to get hot chocolate!

Wednesday night we went to out traditional Christmas Eve party.

After Christmas it's pretty much been hanging around playing with presents and doing cleanup!  Friday we stayed home all day.

Today we got a surprise snow!

Not a lot stuck since it hasn't been that cold lately, but it was really coming down for a while!

Thankfully we were able to make it to the store for groceries and this microphone before the snow came in.  It's important to have the necessities!

Merry Christmas!

When we went to bed late Christmas Eve, everything looked perfect!

The kids were up around 6:45 Christmas morning, but I made them hang out in Alice's room while Jay finished getting ready and I went to feed the dog.  Then it was time to get started!

Alice had told Santa she wanted a bobblehead, and the only one he could find that he thought she would recognize was George Washington.  She recognized him, but wondered why Santa gave it to her because she asked for a bobblehead.  When we told her that was a bobblehead, she said she meant one of those blow up people you can punch and they pop back up.  I guess next year she's going to need to draw Santa a picture to make sure he understands.

She also asked Santa for a beanbag chair.  He understood that one correctly.

Jack asked Santa for the TMNT ball things you see.  It ended up being a very TMNT-themed day!

 Jack gave Alice some Legos.

The kids got Full House on DVD, which thrilled them!

Jay got some TMNT figures from the kids.

From me, he got this book.  From him, I got this book.  We apparently have been together long enough that we are starting to share a brain.

Alice with her first DS.  She is so excited to finally have something like this.  I'm not sure she can actually do much with it yet, but that hasn't made it any less exciting.

Jack got some vintage TMNT figures...

...and a few others to go with them.  I'm probably not explaining this completely right, but these are three different lines of the characters that have come out over the years.  He was so excited!

Alice got the sewing and dance studio for her American Girl doll.  I am not going to lie.  I'm really looking forward to playing with this, with or without Alice.

Just like last year, I managed to send one of Alice's gifts for our house to the grandparents' house.  When we got there she opened this Build a Bear from Jack.

 Game time!

 Jack and Penny

In the evening we went to my mom and dad's.

Dad with his Simpsons shirt from the kids!

Jack was so excited to get this vintage TMNT figure from my sister!

Showing Grandpa how to take pictures with his DS.

It was a great--and long--day!  We are trying to reclaim the house now and rest up!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Weekly Wrap Up (12/20)

It was another full week!  (These two said they were full of safety.)

Sunday night we had Jay's office party at the bowling alley where we went on our first date.

My kids have some smooth bowling moves.

Their favorite thing was getting a bunch of tickets at the arcade, though.

We did some Christmas school this week.

And we watched (or fell asleep during) Christmas shows.

Wednesday afternoon we headed back to Philbrook for Jack's art class.

Wednesday night Jack had a party at church so Alice and I went to CherryBerry.  And then, as she tells it, we had to wait in the hall for 100 hours while the kids finished their Dirty Santa game.

We started a new art project this week!

The boys!

Friday morning we saw that there were still angels that needed gifts, so we went to pick two out, ran to the store and bought stuff, and went right back to the Salvation Army.  Next year I need to do it that way--just not at the last minute!

In the afternoon we went to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum to use our free tickets from the summer reading program.

The kids got to check out the MD-80, which they thought was cool.

 Trying out a simulator

Alice saw this picture of Amelia Earhart and got very interested in her so we had to stop by the library and get a couple of books.  Alice has some theories on what might have happened to her.

Then we made a quick stop at the cupcake shop to try the new holiday flavors before swimming!

This morning we went to Pizza with Santa and then I spent six hours shopping in the craziest traffic and crowds I've ever seen!  Hopefully we are just about finished!
