...but tonight I met an online friend in real life. I have been reading Amber's blog for well over a year now and have gotten to know her there and on Facebook and the FIAR boards. She was in town and we got to go to dinner tonight.
Several times she talked about something she'd read on my blog and then added that she didn't want to sound like a stalker. I felt the same way--when she mentioned painting her house, I could actually picture the current colors. A bit weird, huh? Kind of like the time I recognized a picture of Heather's basement on another site, even though I've never set foot in New York state. (I may just spend a teensy bit of time reading blogs.)
Anyway, it felt like I'd known her in real life all along and we had a great time. Which is good, because we've decided that her daughter and Jack can get married, an idea he seemed mildly interested in since his first three choices (Alice, me, and Boris) aren't available.
(And if I look slightly giddy in the picture, it's because this was my first evening out in a long time. Jay and Jack spent the evening at Lowe's and Home Depot while Alice came with me and behaved quite nicely.)

That is pretty cool.
I had a wonderful time too! So now when I call you "my friend", my husband won't look at me like I'm nuts. Because how can we be friends if we've never met? He just doesn't get it! :-)
That is so cool! I have met a number of my online friends too. I've been on mommysavers.com for over five years and the more I move around the country, the more chances I get to meet these women along the way! They have turned into some of my closest friends!
