Fun Friday: Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today I surprised the kids by taking them to see The Lorax. We don't see many movies in the theater, so Jack was really excited.

This was Alice's first time to see a movie in a theater! She wasn't really sure about the glasses.

About half an hour into the movie, Alice gave up. Jack and I enjoyed it, though!

When we got home, we ate our Truffula Chip Pancakes from IHOP, which we got to go after a huge ordering fiasco.

Tonight we had Cat in the Hat parfaits for dessert!

Last night we went to a Dr. Seuss party at our library! They turned the library into a game and you had to move around the pieces and do what they said, like balancing apples on your head...

...or stacking cups.

At the end of the game, you looked through a hole and turned into the Cat in the Hat!

Don't forget to check out the updated unit study for The Lorax at Homeschool Share (including art by a certain someone I happen to live with!)

And if you're feeling artsy, check out the Draw the Once-ler Contest at the Homeschool Share blog!

Happy Friday!
