Jennifer,
I just read your updates. It's an unwritten clause to deployments: within the first week or so of deployment wife will experience every break down, home maintenance issue known to man. Upon servicemember's return, everything will be restored.
What you went through is normal! Unfortunate, but normal!
We did get our hot water back by the way just in time for him to leave!
